Hazel Mountain Chocolate Factory
Hazel Mountain Chocolate is a boutique bean to bar chocolate factory and shop in the Burren Mountains is known to be one of the smallest if not the smallest and without a doubt the most remote chocolate factories in the Ireland and the world. They make their chocolate in tiny batches using direct traded rare Trinitario, Criollo cacao beans and raw cane sugar for their dark chocolate and Irish milk from grass-fed cows in their milk chocolate giving you the finest, purest and multi-award winning chocolate!
There is a wonderful little chocolate shop and cafe at Hazel Mountain Chocolate Factory and everyone visiting the Burren or the Cliffs of Moher should take the time to go into the cafe for their hot chocolate selection and cake choices. The entire staff are always friendly and welcoming.
Wide Range of Chocolates
We always enjoy stopping at this lovely stop – the deliciously intense chocolate smell almost knocks you out when you enter the chocolate shop! The chocolates come in a wide range of interesting flavours and there is a nice range of gift boxes for family and friends back home, if they last that long!
Their team of chocolate expert chocolatiers start by roasting, cracking and winnowing cacao beans and then grinding it for at least 40 hours. The chocolate is then aged for a further 3 weeks before our chocolatiers create their award winning range of bean to bar chocolates. You simply just cannot hurry the complicated process of making the world’s best chocolate.

Other Things To Do on Cliffs of Moher Day Tour
An Aillwee Caves Tour is something we might suggest to the more adventurous customer of ours. Anyone with a hint of interest in caves will simply love the Aillwee Caves which also includes a Birds of Prey Center and Cheesemaking Farm Shop!
One of my our favourite stops is the small village of Lisdoonvarna, its a spa town and the gateway to the Burren, and a short distance on my way to the Cliffs Of Moher day tour. It has become the central meeting place for many people for well over a hundred years.
